We empower entrepreneurship

Our philosophy

We are guided by Asian values that
we believe are integral to investing, operations and working
with others.

Group 2

People inspire business

We leverage on our experience in global institutions to improve our approach to investments, team building and operations.

We strive to become a pontifex (i.e. bridge-maker) and make a difference through meaningful collaborations. We empower growth by working closely with founders to: i) refine application; ii) create alignment; and iii) champion adoption.

We believe in treating our partners and shareholders with humility, mutual respect and integrity.

We work together

Ethos believes in honouring our portfolio companies and actively giving back to them.

“MX and Peng are investors in BBP. The two have a large strategic network across the region and can pull together technical and financial resources to help companies. As BBP evolved from its pilot phase to expanding into overseas markets, they have connected BBP to several regional real estate companies to accelerate our company’s growth. MX has graciously served as a director of BBP since 2016 and has played the role of a strategic advisor who has steered us towards building scale. Early stage entrepreneurship always has its share of difficult periods but as a young and growing company, it has been a true advantage for BBP to have shareholders like MX and Peng to support us along this journey.” (Acquisition by KKR)

“Ethos has been a great partner for Moladin. Their approach to us has always been very hands on. Often, we will have brainstorming sessions about business operations, marketing and strategy. They usually have many great ideas and we are often able to tap on their huge network to grow our business.”

Co-founders, Jovin Hoon & MarioTanamas

“MX was an angel investor in Zanadu. With his strong and strategic regional network, he helped to supercharge Zanadu’s business when we were still in a nascent phase by connecting us to key travel industry contacts. He also served as a director of Zanadu since 2012 and played a significant role in providing strategic advice and guidance. We are truly thankful for the support that MX has given us through our journey from a young enterprising company to China’s leader in premium and luxury travel today.” (Acquisition by Tencent)

Founder, Zan Wu

“The Ethos team has been a wonderful partner in our growth journey and we have been amazed at the value-add they bring to the table. They are very thorough and detail-oriented in analysis & due diligence, but it was worth every minute that we spent with the team. MX & Peng have the ability to zoom-in or out of situations, helping to bring us clarity. Being investors who take an active role, they invest time and energy in ensuring growth. Given their inherent entrepreneurial instincts and unparalleled network, their approach to solving problems, big or small, is unique. I believe that the ‘wins’ they enable for their portfolio companies are  simple ‘moments of joy’ for them in their busy schedules. As founders, it’s often a lonely bumpy ride, but their insights have helped us keep calm & stay course.”

Founder, Hari Sivan

“At our early stage of growth, it was immensely important to us that our investors are aligned with our vision as founders and help us carry the momentum forward. MX, MJ, and Zheng Xiang went above and beyond in their approach. Not only were they responsive advisors for us to seek guidance from, they also proactively sought new ways for us to realise value by tapping into their networks, knowledge, and experience from a number of different fields. We are extremely appreciative of the impact they’ve made to our company as investors.”
